Abstract

The Federal Trade Commission ("FTC" or "Commission") recently published a notice of proposed rulemaking ("NPRM") in the Federal Register, titled "Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials" ("Reviews and Testimonials Rule" or "Rule"), which would prohibit certain specified unfair or deceptive acts or practices involving consumer reviews or testimonials. The NPRM announced the opportunity for interested parties to present their positions orally at an informal hearing. Three commenters requested to present their positions orally at the informal hearing.
